DOP proposes to open 80 Branch Post Offices and 50 Sub-Post Offices in the country during 2012-13

India has the largest number of Post Offices in the world. However, 5,00,327 villages are without Post Offices in the country. Opening of Post Offices is an on-going process. New Post Offices are opened as per the prescribed norms and subject to availability of Plan funds and manpower. It has been proposed to open 80 Branch Post Offices and 50 Sub-Post Offices in the country during the current financial year (2012-13).

24,969 departmental Post Offices have been computerized, out of which 21,606 Post Offices have been provided electronic money order facilities. The Department has a plan to provide these services through all Post Offices in phased manner and it is expected to be completed during the current Plan. 

This information was given by Dr. (Smt.) Killi Kruparani, Minister of State for C&IT in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.

09.12.2012 அன்று திருவரங்கம் தலைமை தபால் அலுவலகத்தில் மாலை சுமார் 4.00 மணியளவில் அனைத்து உறுப்பினர் கூட்டம் உதவித்தலைவர் தோழர் K. கதிர்வேல் அவர்களின் தலைமையில் தொடங்கியது.  நிதிச்செயலர் தோழர் V. ஸ்ரீதரன் வரவேற்ப்புரை ஆற்ற கோட்டச்செயலர் தோழர் T. தமிழ்ச்செல்வன்,  12.12.12 அன்று நடைபெற உள்ள வேலை நிறுத்ததைப்பற்றி நீண்டதொரு விளக்க உரையாற்றினார்.  அனைத்து தோழர்களும், தோழியர்களும் வேலை நிறுத்தத்தில் பங்குகொள்வது என அனைத்து உறுப்பினர் கூட்டத்தில் முடிவெடுக்கப்பட்டது.

அதன்பின் கோட்டத்தலைவர் தோழர் M. திருசங்கு அவர்கள் கடந்த 30.11.2012 அன்று பணிநிறைவு பெற்றதால் புதிய கோட்டத்தலைவர்க்கான தேர்வு நடைபெற்றது.  உதவித்தலைவர் தோழர் K. கதிர்வேல் அவர்கள் கோட்டத்தலைவராக ஏகமனதாக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார்.  புதிய கோட்டத்தலைவர்க்கான தேர்வை உதவித்தலைவர் தோழர் S. விஜயகுமார் அவர்கள் நடத்தி வைத்தார்.  

அதன்பின் அமைப்புச்செயலர் தோழர் R.வரதராஜன் நன்றி கூற அனைத்து உறுப்பினர் கூட்டம் இனிதே நிறைவுற்றது.

08.12.2012 அன்று திருவரங்கம் தலைமை தபால் அலுவலகத்தில் 12.12.12 ஒரு நாள் வேலைநிறுத்திற்க்கான விளக்க கூட்டம் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது. மாநில செயல் தலைவர் தோழர் N. கோபாலகிருஷ்ணன் அவர்கள் ஏன்? இந்த வேலை நிறுத்தமானது இந்த காலகட்டத்திற்கு மிக அவசியம் என்பதை தெள்ள தெளிவாக எடுத்துரைத்தார்.  அவருக்கு கோட்டச்சங்கத்தின் சார்பில் நன்றியை தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கிறோம்.

08.12.2012 அன்று திருவரங்கம் தலைமை தபால் அலுவலகத்தில் 12.12.12 ஒரு நாள் வேலைநிறுத்திற்க்கான விளக்க கூட்டம் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது. மாநில செயல் தலைவர் தோழர் N. கோபாலகிருஷ்ணன் அவர்கள் ஏன்? இந்த வேலை நிறுத்தமானது இந்த காலகட்டத்திற்கு மிக அவசியம் என்பதை தெள்ள தெளிவாக எடுத்துரைத்தார்.  அவருக்கு கோட்டச்சங்கத்தின் சார்பில் நன்றியை தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கிறோம்.

“We have a very big gap between the cost of living and wages, and it is that gap which causes hunger and distress and ultimately strike. The point is that all over India there is that gap today and unless that gap is bridged, there will be industrial troubles. These can be bridged either by lowering the prices or by raising the wages. I see today vast fortunes accumulated in the hands of a few. On the other hand, the vast number of people are being faced with a heavy burden of prices. How are we to meet this question of strike? It is not possible or desirable to use the powers of the state (Govt.) against the strike”.
